Nebraska Wants to Return Your Unclaimed Cash Before Year Ends

Nebraska State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg is reminding residents to check if they have unclaimed money before the holidays.

The state’s Unclaimed Property Program holds forgotten money from things like:

  • Old bank accounts

  • Uncashed checks

  • Insurance payouts

  • Safe deposit box items

Since the program started, Nebraska has returned $260 million to residents.

This year alone, more than 16,000 people received a total of $16.27 million. Some claims are just a few dollars, while others reach thousands.

  • Live in Nebraska
